A team is also dedicated to the maintenance of equipment in operation at our customers' plants.

The Smart Operations Solutions Engineer supports the deployment and integration of our digital solution. The role ensures that customers achieve the operation and maintenance business outcomes they expect from Fives digital products by supporting onboarding, adoption of the solution by the customer and having proactive monitoring of usage of our solution. The role connects customer with Fives equipment and Fives process & maintenance expertise leveraging Smart Crane technologies, data analysis enabling real-time visibility, process automation, asset reliability, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the organization and its customers. The role supports also solution commissioning ensuring digital solution matches process realities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Smart Operations Solutions Engineer supports the deployment and integration of our digital solution. The role ensures that customers achieve the operation and maintenance business outcomes they expect from Fives digital products by supporting onboarding, adoption of the solution by the customer and having proactive monitoring of usage of our solution. The role connects customer with Fives equipment and Fives process & maintenance expertise leveraging Smart Crane technologies, data analysis enabling real-time visibility, process automation, asset reliability, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the organization and its customers. The role supports solution commissioning ensuring digital solution matches process realities.
Acting as a bridge between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT), the position works closely with customers, operations teams, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions, support digital transformation initiatives, and enhance operational efficiency through data, analytics, and automation.
The role leverages a large range of tools to achieve so: SmartCrane technologies, data analyses, on field observation, lean management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Onboarding
- Supporting Commissiong of the solution ensuring digital solution matches process realities.
- Training customer
- Guiding the customer through the first steps so they can start using the solution effectively.
- Adoption
- Ensuring the customer actually uses the product in a meaningful way and integrates it into daily operations.
- Provide customer support, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, system upgrades, and user assistance both remotely and on-site.
- Conduct customer meetings, workshops, solution demonstrations, and technical presentations.
- Gather and document business and technical requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
- Act as a primary technical point of contact and ensure timely issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Proactive Monitoring
- Identifying risks early (reduced usage, bugs, low solution uptime, no maintenance, frustration, obstacles) to prevent churn and engage action.
- Support real-time monitoring, process automation, predictive maintenance, and asset performance initiatives.
- Troubleshoot system issues and identify opportunities for operational improvement and technology optimization.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, OT security, data governance, and business continuity requirements.
- Maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
- Support digital transformation, process improvement, and automation initiatives across the organization.
- Value Realization
- Helping the customer reach their business, operational, or financial objectives using the product
- Following kpis and identifying reason for non-performance
- Renewal & Expansion
- Supporting contract renewals and identifying natural upsell/crosssell opportunities — but always based on delivered value, not aggressive sales.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Automation, I.T or Computer Science or a relevant field
- Strong field experience
- Industrial experience, preferably in Aluminium Smelting.
- Minimum of three (3) years and maximum of five (5) years of relevant experience

- Advanced user of MS Office
- Regular regional/international travel is required
- Regular on field presence
