To produce 2D and 3D drawings/designs for the manufacturing and assembly processes in accordance with customer requirements/specifications, whilst ensuring full compliance to applicable Fives policies/procedures and regulatory and international standards
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the development of engineering design submissions (2D & 3D) in order to ensure all designs meet the functional, economic, environmental, technical and safety requirements of the project and recommend alternatives/remedial solutions if necessary
- Lead design reviews to ensure products/equipment/installations meet the client’s specifications and requirements and designs are aligned with contractual terms and conditions
- Conduct test fits/stress analysis for all design specifications and evaluate potential design options and project configurations to ensure practicality and validity of engineering designs to support the execution of day to day operations / projects
- Responsible for analysing engineering design issues that arise during the preliminary design phase, propose solutions and where necessary and redesign engineering designs to comply with change requests / specification amendments / modifications etc, whilst ensuring compliance with Fives policies and procedures and industry and regulatory standards
- Responsible for the design of jigs, welding fixtures and special purpose machines (SPM) to meet production/operational requirements and ensure all designs are compliant with industry standards and specifications
- Act as the point of contact for all design / drawing amendments, modifications, approvals ensuring all design elements meet customer specifications and contractual terms and conditions
- Prepare the bill of materials from drawings, designs and specifications to ensure all material requirements are itemized and categorized for production purposes, and submit the bill of materials to initiate purchase requests to ensure on time delivery to fulfil project requirements
- Responsible for ensuring the timely preparation and submission of production orders, conducting review of material selection and certification requirements whilst ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures, and industry standards
- Contribute to the preparation and response to RFQ’s/quotations, review and submit technical requirements and specifications, participate in subcontractor selection against agreed criteria, and support the bidding process as per business requirements
- Review and approve all design processes and activities to ensure sub-contractors / customers comply with applicable project requirements and monitor adherence to technical / design specifications
- Support the Engineering Manager to review projects/production requirements and monitor expenditure related to bill of materials, and ensure the bill of materials is reconciled in a timely manner as per Company policies and procedures
- Participate in technical investigations, trouble shooting and detailed fault finding for recurring and/or serious problems related to design and manufacturing processes and recommend corrective and preventative actions to ensure delivery of operational requirements
- Responsible for the preparation and delivery of all manuals and documents i.e installation manual, spare parts manual, maintenance manual etc related to installation & commissioning, preventative and maintenance requirements and general operations as per Company policies and procedures
- Responsible for ensuring all design/drawing records are kept fully up to date on an "As-built" basis with all additions/modifications recorded as per Company policies and procedures and maintain a robust document control system for ease of reference and retrieval
- Participate in internal /external audits as required and ensure all audit requirements are conducted and delivered as per Company policies and procedures and operational requirements
- Ensure compliance with all relevant (internal and external) regulations including HSEQ requirements using Company policies and procedures as appropriate
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant Engineering field
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATION OR MEMBERSHIPs
- Knowledge of AutoCAD software is a must
- Knowledge of Solidworks software is a must
- Knowledge of MS Office is advantageous.
