Review new software releases, apply changes in test environments, coordinate user testing, validate results, and support deployment planning. Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred; equivalent experience may be considered. One to three years of related experience in business systems analysis, ERP support, application support, reporting, manufacturing systems, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. Strong customer service, troubleshooting, communication, and analytical skills. Excellent computer skills with the ability to support and improve business technology systems. Experience supporting ERP applications and core business systems in preferably in a project-based environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL, SSRS, Power BI, ERP reporting tools, or similar reporting and business intelligence platforms preferred. Scope and Responsibilities: The position is for a Software Engineer at Fives Cincinnati. This person will have the responsibilities of designing, supporting, and maintaining the control software of our composite laying equipment, which utilize gantry and robotic manipulators, and their peripheral equipment. Description of Typical Duties: * Target code to run on Siemens Operate platforms such as Sinumerik One & 840D * Use TIA Portal or Step 7 development environments for CNC integration * Use Microsoft’s Visual Studio develop environments * Target code to run on Windows and Intime RTOS * Manage source controlled with Mercurial and Git. * Plans for C# and/or Indusoft development for future HMIs. * Utilize OPC-UA, Access Databases, and Modbus-TCP on various applications. * Focus on continuously improving and optimizing system performance and increasing control system functionality and capability. * Participate in cross-functional design reviews. * Troubleshoot electro-mechanical and software issues. * Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. * Work well in a team and with minimal supervision. Preferred Additional Skills: * Experiene writing and maintaining code in VB.NET WinForms, C, C++, and many IEC 61131-3 PLC languages * Experience with multi axis servo systems design, motion control systems, and robotic interfaces. * Experience with sensor interfaces, IO, fieldbus, and related technology. * Experience with integrating machine safety systems within software applications. * Experience with software quality systems/processes.
