Design Engineer (Structural)

Investigate design failures and identify root causes to implement effective design
improvements.
 Staying up to date with industry trends and new technologies and implementing
new designs
Operational  Design & Modelling: Creating detailed 2D and 3D structural models and blueprints
using software like AutoCAD, Revit, or Building Information Modelling (BIM) like TEKLA.
 Structural Analysis: Performing complex mathematical calculations to determine loads,
pressures, and stresses on structural components (beams, columns, and foundations).
 Material Selection: Choosing appropriate construction materials—such as steel,
concrete, timber, or masonry—based on their strength, durability, and costeffectiveness.
 Site Inspections: Conducting regular on-site visits to monitor construction progress,
ensure adherence to design specifications, and address technical issues.
 Compliance & Safety: Ensuring all designs strictly follow local, national, and
international building codes and health and safety regulations.
 Existing Structures: Assessing the integrity of older buildings to recommend repairs,
renovations, or seismic retrofitting
